Meet the person behind the work

Hello, I’m LinCie, a backend software engineer and trainee based in Indonesia. I build backend systems and keep learning how to improve their performance and make the code easier to understand and maintain.

I’m currently a Software Engineering Trainee at Sea Labs Indonesia (Shopee), one of 24 trainees selected from more than a thousand applicants. Most days I design and build backend services in Go and TypeScript. I also tune database queries and study how distributed systems fit together.

I studied Marketing Management and Business Administration (GPA 3.71 / 4.00), rather than computer science. That background still shapes how I think about technology: I want the systems I build to help people do their work and make running a business easier. Removing unnecessary manual steps is part of that.

Before Sea Labs, I worked as a Full Stack Engineer at PT Haebot Teknologi Indonesia. I led a complete rewrite of a core enterprise ERP system, replacing slow legacy query paths with explicit Kysely queries. That brought production latency down from 2.5 seconds to under 400 milliseconds. I also automated deployment with Docker Compose, reducing environment setup from about an hour to less than five minutes.

I want my software to be fast and resilient, with documentation that helps people use and maintain it. I try to give a tool I build for myself the same care as a high-volume checkout system.

How I work

These habits guide my work on high-concurrency backend services and small personal experiments alike.

Measure before optimizing

At Haebot, I used query execution plans and slow-query profiling to investigate performance. Along with targeted indexes, that work helped cut query latency by 84%.

Keep code easy to follow

I write readable Go interfaces and explicit, type-safe SQL. Clear boundaries between parts of a system help the next person on the team understand the code and maintain it.

Understand the business problem

My business background helps me work through domain logic and the engineering decisions it calls for. I want to understand the problem an organization needs to solve, whether that means preventing accounting mistakes or taking repetitive work off people’s plates.
